Our story began in 1987 when we acquired a small engineering firm, Saw & Tool Services Ltd, located in central Christchurch. Initially, we specialized in sharpening knives, blades, and cutters, with a team of just three dedicated staff. 1995 - Expanding Horizons. As our vision grew, we ventured into importing equipment from overseas. Soon, we expanded into a sixteen-person team, not only handling engineering but also sales and marketing of imported equipment. 2003 - Becoming TopmaQ. In 2003, we rebranded as TopmaQ, selling the engineering division to concentrate on our importing endeavors. To meet growing demand, we established a 600m² branch in Dunedin, serving the lower South Island. 2007 - A Convenient One-Stop Shop. Our journey led us to construct a new head office in Wigram, Christchurch, complete with a 3000m² warehouse for efficient product handling and distribution. The central Christchurch branch moved next door, ensuring a seamless one-stop-shop experience. 2012 - Expanding North. With a strong presence in the South Island, we set our sights on the North. In 2012, we opened a 3000m² branch in Mangere, Auckland, equipped for direct import and distribution throughout the North Island. 2015 - The Timaru Addition. Our fourth branch in Timaru emerged, and our team swelled to 25 staff members, all committed to exploring further opportunities for business expansion to keep up with growing demand. 2018 - Hamilton's Debut. Responding to requests from our North Island customers, we inaugurated a new 1200m² Hamilton store in the bustling Te Rapa area, catering to the greater Waikato region. 2019 - A Digital Shift. Embracing the digital era, we launched our brand new website, shifting our focus towards providing the best online and in-store experience possible, reaffirming our commitment to delivering top-notch gear for industry professionals. 2021 - A Year of Resilience and Growth. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic, we were fortunate to experience significant growth, thanks to our loyal and expanding customer base. Our original Christchurch store relocated to a new purpose-built location at 280 Main South Road, Hornby. Additionally, we embarked on the construction of our impressive 9000m² Head Office and nationwide distribution center, situated in the Christchurch Airport Industrial Park.
